A FEW SIMPLE STEPS
Get started
- Create a note and search the language chooser for TypeScript or .ts.
- Paste the typed source or import a .ts file.
- Use Format in the code tools, then review the change in the source.
- Copy or download the result and check it in your TypeScript project.
Open editor takes you to the draft on this page. Paste or open a source file, or choose Try this example. Save to notebook keeps a named copy with your notes. Your workspace style stays unchanged.
Save the type and its example together
A short snippet is more useful when you remember its expected input. Keep the interface, a small call example, and a comment about edge cases in the same note. Add tags to distinguish experiments from snippets you use in a project.
Format supported TypeScript source, search for a symbol with find and replace, or compare two versions in separate panes. Switch a note to JavaScript when you are working with the untyped form.
Check types in your project
Syntax highlighting and formatting do not type-check a program. The notebook does not run tsc, resolve your tsconfig, install type definitions, or compile TypeScript into a runnable application.
Download or copy the edited source into your actual project to check types and run tests with its dependencies. Keep a notebook backup if these examples need to survive a browser reset.
A few questions
Does the editor compile or type-check TypeScript?
No. It provides source editing, syntax highlighting, and formatting. Use your project’s compiler and tests to check types and behavior.
