PYTHON EDITOR

A Python notepad for scripts, examples, and small ideas.

Keep a Python helper, a data-cleaning idea, or an annotated .py example without opening a full project. Blob Notebook gives each note a language mode and saves your source locally in your browser.

This draft is shared with the full editor for this task and stays separate from named notes. Export a copy or save to notebook to include it in a notebook backup. This editor page and its tools reopen offline after the editor reports readiness. Informational and privacy guides need a connection.

A FEW SIMPLE STEPS

Get started

  1. Create a note and choose Python or .py in the language chooser.
  2. Paste a script or import a Python source file.
  3. Edit with syntax highlighting and use find and replace for repeated changes.
  4. Download the .py source and run it with your project’s Python interpreter.

Open editor takes you to the draft on this page. Paste or open a source file, or choose Try this example. Save to notebook keeps a named copy with your notes. Your workspace style stays unchanged.

Keep indentation and context visible

Python uses indentation to define blocks. Use line numbers and a readable tab size, and inspect block boundaries when pasting code from another source. Put assumptions about files or inputs in comments so the snippet makes sense later.

Find and replace can update repeated text, and comparison panes help review two versions of a script. Save frequently reused fragments in the snippet library instead of searching through unrelated notes.

Move the source into your Python environment

Download a .py note or copy the source into your project when it is ready to run. The notebook does not start a Python interpreter, install pip packages, execute notebooks, or provide Jupyter cells.

Review indentation after using formatting tools, then run your own checks. Local storage keeps the note in this browser; a notebook backup lets you transfer it to another one.

A few questions

Is this an online Python compiler?

It is a Python text editor and local snippet notebook. Python execution, package installation, and interpreter output belong in your own runtime.
